IQA Pan-American Games 2019 Will be Held on July 13-14, 2019

The IQA Pan-American Games 2019 will be held on July 13-14 in Richmond, Virginia.

Competition will take place over one or two days. Supplemental events and activities will be announced soon.

Admission to this tournament will be free! RSVP on Eventbrite here, where you can also pre-order an event T-shirt. You can RSVP to the Facebook event here, too.


Team Registration

Countries interested in sending their national team or regional teams as outlined in the eligibility criteria for the Pan-American Games 2019 should fill out this interest form by March 1. Teams from Africa, Asia, and Oceania are invited to register provided they are not planning to attend European Games. There will be a per team registration fee. Also, this event will have a stay and play policy–teams are required to stay a minimum of two nights at one of the partner hotels. More information on team registration and requirements will be available on February 20.

Get Involved

Information on how to submit applications for tournament staff, officials, and general volunteers will be available in February. If you plan on attending in one of these capacities, please RSVP to the Eventbrite page as well.

IQA Pan-American Games 2019

Richmond, Virginia – The IQA Pan-American Games 2019 will be held July 13 and 14 in Henrico County at Glover Park. The event is co-hosted by the International Quidditch Association and US Quidditch, in conjunction with Richmond Region Tourism. Teams from North, Central, and South America along the Caribbean will be invited to attend. Admission is free and spectators can RSVP here to receive event updates and information and also pre-order an event T-shirt.  

“I’m delighted that USQ will be partnering with Richmond Region Tourism and the IQA to host the inaugural IQA Pan-American Games,” said USQ Executive Director Sarah Woolsey. “This event has been the result of several years of discussion with other National Governing Bodies (NGBs), including Canada, Mexico, and Peru. We thank them for their work to make this event a reality.”

“To consolidate an event so necessary for our continent has been a major achievement and we thank all the organizers for their enormous commitment and responsibility to carry out the first of many Pan-American Games,” said Alberto Santillán, President for Quidditch México (QMX).

 

The International Quidditch Association (IQA) is the international governing body for quidditch, and supports quidditch development and competition worldwide. The IQA aims to lead and promote the sport of quidditch by holding international sporting events, supporting other quidditch groups, and by sharing quidditch and its values of gender equity and inclusivity with a broader audience. US Quidditch (USQ) is the national governing body for the sport of quidditch. Los Juegos Panamericanos IQA 2019 se llevarán a cabo el 13 y 14 de julio en el condado de Henrico en Glover Park, Virginia, Estados Unidos. El evento está organizado por la Asociación de Quidditch Internacional (IQA por sus siglas en Inglés) y Quidditch Estados Unidos (USQ por sus siglas en Inglés), en conjunto con Richmond Region Tourism. Equipos de Norte, Centro y Sudamérica y el Caribe serán invitados a participar. La admisión es gratuita y los espectadores deben confirmar su asistencia aquí para recibir avances de información y comprar la camiseta del evento.
